North Carolina FFA Association Honored with 2024 North Carolina Rural Leadership Award
The North Carolina FFA Association was honored with the 2024 North Carolina Larry Wooten Rural Leadership Award during a reception at the State Capitol on December 3, 2024. The Larry Wooten Rural Leadership Award honors exceptional leaders and organizations that have made significant contributions to rural communities in North Carolina.
Special recognition was given to Bruce Miller, former agriculture teacher at South Rowan High School, and the Southern Alamance FFA Chapter as examples of the impact of agricultural education and FFA in local communities.
Governor Roy Cooper and Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler commended the enduring impact of agricultural education and FFA on North Carolina's rural communities. Accepting the award, Joshua Bledsoe, State FFA Advisor, reflected on the collective efforts of the state's 48,000 FFA members and over 600 agriculture teachers, promising to continue fostering leadership and preparing young people for careers in agriculture.
