2021-2022 DELTA Conference

This information is for all Agricultural Education Teachers with 0-5 years of experience.   

The 2021-2022 Developing Educational Leaders and Teachers of Agriculture (DELTA) program meets the DPI requirement for initial CTE restricted license teachers. Teachers holding residency, temporary, or those who are adding agricultural education to an existing teaching license are highly encouraged to attend this beneficial training.  This conference will also benefit newly certified teachers.  Please see the schedule information listed below.  Teachers must complete all seven DELTA components to meet the requirement of the 40-Hour New Teacher Induction Program.  The DELTA program is coordinated by the North Carolina State Staff Team and the Agricultural Education faculty at North Carolina State University.  A certificate of completion for the 40-Hour New Teacher Induction will be provided upon completion of all seven components.

Agricultural Education DELTA Components (updated for new participants in 2021-22)

  • Regional Fall In-Service Meetings (2 hours) - Teachers should attend their respective Agricultural Education Regional Fall In-Service Meeting during the month of September. The schedule is available online at:  http://ncffa.org/news-events/events/
  • Regional Coordinator Visit (1 hour) - Each teacher will be visited by their respective regional agricultural education coordinator at their school.  This visit will provide individualized coaching and instruction for each teacher.
  • Agricultural Education Fall DELTA (14 hours) - Teachers should attend Fall DELTA December 10-11, 2021, at the North Carolina FFA Center in White Lake.  Lodging is included on the evening of December 9.
  • Agricultural Education Spring DELTA (14 hours) - Teachers should attend Spring DELTA March 11-12, 2022, at the North Carolina FFA Center in White Lake.  Lodging is included on the evening of March 10.
  • Regional Spring In-Service Meetings (2 hours) - Teachers should attend their respective Agricultural Education Regional Spring In-Service Meeting during the month of March.  The schedule is available online at: http://ncffa.org/news-events/events/
  • State FFA Convention Experience (4 hours) - Teachers should attend the opening day of the North Carolina FFA State Convention, June 21, 2022.  Additional information will be shared in spring 2022.
  • New and Beginning Agriculture Teacher Workshop (3 hours) - Teachers should attend this workshop held during the annual CTE Summer Conference in July.


Fall DELTA and Spring DELTA Registration Information

Registration for the Fall DELTA and Spring DELTA conducted at the North Carolina FFA Center is available online

Pre-registration is required and should be completed at least one week prior to each session.  

Fall DELTA registration is due by 5:00 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021.

Spring DELTA registration is due by 5:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2022.

There will be no on-site registration.  

An invoice for the selected session(s) and registration fee(s) will be sent to the address provided during registration after each DELTA session.

Fall DELTA Registration Options

  • $200 – includes lodging (Thursday and Friday nights), meals, and conference materials
  • $150 – includes meals and conference materials

Spring DELTA Registration Options

  • $200 – includes lodging (Thursday and Friday nights), meals, and conference materials
  • $150 – includes meals and conference materials

Lodging

Participants will be staying in the lodge at the North Carolina FFA Center and should plan to bring sheets, pillows, blankets (each room has one single and one double bed), towels, and toiletries (including soap and shampoo).
