2013 Scholarships - Now Available Through AgCN

The 2013 Scholarship Application became available as of November 15, 2012. This year, students access the application through the Agricultural Career Network (AgCN).  FFA members are instructed to create their AgCN accounts using information from invitations generated by their FFA advisors.  Unfortunately, some members are creating AgCN accounts through the “Community” portal.  Under no circumstances should an FFA member EVER create an account in the Community portal. 

“Community” is for non-member use only.  Creating an account through this portal automatically identifies the user as a “non-member” and directs the user to the non-member application only.  Please be aware the majority of our scholarships require FFA membership.  FFA members submitting a “non-member” applications will NOT be eligible for scholarships requiring membership.  (Submitting more than one application is grounds for disqualification.)

Advisors obtain their AgCN Login information from state staff.  They should enter their chapter roster into AgCN by selecting a renewal type for each member.  Advisors click the “Print/Reprint invitations” link on their membership page to generate invitations to locally approved “active” members.  Allowing students access to the FFA application by any means other than renewing their membership may result in the application being Disqualified.

Important: Advisors will need to submit their rosters to local and to state. Once the roster is received at the state level, an invoice will be sent to the chapter. Dues must be received in the state office before a student will be submitted to national.

Membership status will be checked before judging begins. Advisors should double check that each scholarship applicant is listed in the Active Members section of their roster, with a status of "National." Only students with a current, active membership status will be eligible to compete for scholarships.  The deadline to ensure active membership is March 1, 2013.

The online application must be submitted prior to 5:00 p.m. EST Feb.  15, 2013.  Signature Pages must be mailed postmarked no later than Feb. 22, 2013.
