EVENT DETAILS:

The fourth annual University of Mount Olive AgFest will be held on the campus of UMO Thursday, September 21st. Below is the schedule for the day. Registration is required by Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Space is limited so if your FFA chapter is interested in attending, please register ASAP using the attached registration form. Please complete the registration form and e-mail your registration form to SMaddox@umo.edu and AJones@umo.edu or fax to (919) 658-7633. Complete the registration form by completing the fillable fields and save it as a pdf which you can send as an attachment or a scanned document. A confirmation e-mail will be sent when your registration is received. Checks and a copy of the registration form should be mailed ASAP to the address on the form. Invoices can be sent if needed. Each agricultural teacher should receive an AgFest poster soon that we hope you will hang in your classroom.

Agricultural companies will be available to provide students hands-on demonstrations and learning opportunities across various agricultural sectors. We will have some great NC companies who will be providing a meal. We will also have UMO admission representatives who can talk with students about applying to colleges and the admissions process. The AgFest concert will feature Parmalee and Fairground Saints. We have moved the concert up to ensure that it ends by 8:30 so we hope you will be able to enjoy the entire show!

For schools interested in staying in Mount Olive overnight for the event we have secured a block room rate of $84.95 per room at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Mount Olive (203 NC Highway 55W Mount Olive, NC 28365). If you are eligible for the state rate you can ask for that and it should be available for teacher rooms only. If you are interested in reserving rooms call the Sleep Inn at (919) 658-1002 and use the group name AG FEST-UMO Event. Rooms must be booked by Thursday, September 13 to take advantage of the block rate. If there is any confusion or issues please call Dr. Maddox at (919) 658-7682.

3:00 – 5:30    Group Rotations including a meal provided by Got To Be NC food companies and Goodness Grows in NC members, Agricultural Demonstrations by ag companies and updated information from UMO Admissions

5:30 – 6:00   Concert Doors Open

6:00 – 8:30   Concert Featuring Parmalee and Fairground Saints
