The George R. Edwards Memorial SLC Scholarship in the amount of $250 is awarded annually to a deserving FFA member to attend the official North Carolina FFA State Leadership Conference at the North Carolina FFA Center. In order to receive this scholarship the recipient must meet the following qualifications:
Be an active, dues-paying FFA member in Sampson or Duplin County
Has shown the potential to become a leader in his/her FFA chapter
Must have completed at least their freshman year in high school and obtained their FFA Greenhand Degree
In order for a student to be considered for this scholarship, they must submit the application cover sheet, a resume of their high school/FFA career, and a letter of recommendation from their FFA advisor. All applicants must submit all documents to the state office by April 5, 2024.
Only one nomination per FFA chapter will be accepted. Applications should be sent as one PDF to Shelby Robertson.
The George R. Edwards Scholarship is awarded annually in memory of George R. Edwards, a former agricultural education teacher and FFA advisor at Halls Middle School and James Kenan High School.
